Steering Committee

During the Dec. 15, 2004 NAVAJO NATION/ADOT/BIA/FHWA Partnering Workshop, the partners established a steering committee charged with the responsibility of developing a work plan, making sure the partnering effort continues its momentum and meeting on a regular basis to continue the partnering dialogue.

Mission:

  Make sure the partnering effor continues its momentum.
  Motto: Make It Happen!

Key Goals:
  • Goal #1
    Provide all partners key processes information to promote understanding.
    (Processes are defined as internal day to day operations)
  • Goal #2
    Provide all partners key protocol/legal/cultural information to promote understanding
    (Protocol is defined as: etiquette, proper approach, cultural background, and how to address each other)
  • Goal #3
    Provide all partners key relationships (inter-relationship) information to promote understanding.
    (Relationship is defined as the duty to share, enhance and promote a mutual commitment)

Responsibilities


Bullet Develop a work plan

Bullet Meet quarterly & as needed to continue the partnering dialogue

Bullet Address the top prioritized partnership issue, as well as all other key issues identified

Bullet Develop partnership agreements re: issue resolution, evaluation and ongoing communication and follow-up

Bullet Coordinate & implement ongoing Partnership Evaluation

Bullet Identify & document partnership successes

Bullet Update & keep current tangible products
